Terms and Conditions

  1. The Tour de Work (Adelaide Workplace Cycling Challenge) will run between Monday 9th November and Sunday 29th November 2009 ('the Challenge period').
  2. Only people who are working within the Adelaide City Council area will be eligible for the prizes and giveaways provided by the Tour de Work in 2009. People working outside of the Adelaide City Council area will be able to take part in the Tour de Work and register on the website however they will not be eligible for any prizes.
  3. Registration is free via the Tour de Work website (www.tourdework.com.au) or Registration Form. Upon registration, an organisation or department will be classified as a team according to the number of staff employed by the registered organisation or department. The size categories are: Very Small (3 to 6), Small (7 to 19), Medium (20 to 49), Large (50 to 199), Very Large (200 to 499), Corporate (500+).
  4. To register an organisation you must have approval from your organisation's management to do so.
  5. Once a team is registered, individuals of that organisation or department may register their individual participation into that team.
  6. If a team's size increases to more than the team's size category, Challenge for Change will move the team into the appropriate size category.
  7. Individual and team registration can continue throughout the duration of the Challenge period. The closing date for registration online is midnight of Tuesday 1 December 2009. The closing date for hard copy Registration Form's is Monday 30 November 2009.
  8. Challenge for Change shall not be held responsible for any late, incomplete, corrupted or incorrect registrations as a result of any software or hardware failure, or otherwise.
  9. Cycle trips must occur within the Challenge period to contribute to the team's results.
  10. Cycle trips must be logged via the Tour de Work website at www.tourdework.org.au or logged on the Tour de Work Registration Form. If trips are not logged in this way, they cannot contribute to the team's results.
  11. All participants take part in the Tour de Work at their own risk. All participants must ensure that the bicycles they ride are in a roadworthy condition and must observe the rules of the Australian Road Rules. Neither the Adelaide City Council, Department for Transport Energy & Infrastructure, Challenge for Change, Sustainable Focus or any sponsors or promoters of the Tour de Work accept responsibility for any injury sustained or property damaged in the course of anyone's participation in the Tour de Work.
  12. Where two or more teams achieve equal highest percentage participation the winning team will be decided upon which one has achieved the highest percentage of non-cyclists (a non-cyclist is defined as someone who hasn't cycled in the last year or more). Where two or more teams have achieved equal percentage of non-cyclists then the winner will be decided by a random draw.
  13. The Team Co-ordinators of the winning teams will be notified by email on or before Friday 4 December 2009.
  14. A valid cycle trip is defined as a participant cycling for a minimum of 10 minutes or 3 kilometres on a pedal bicycle.
  15. Cycle trips do not include use of motorcycles, scooters or stationary cycles.
  16. At the end of the Challenge period, a prize will be awarded to the team in each size category which achieves the highest percentage of employees completing cycle trips during the Challenge period.
  17. There are 6 team prize packs in total, one for the winning organisation or department in each category. Team prize packs will consist of several bike related items. For a list of the prizes available please see the information on Prizes on the 'Learn More' page of this website.
  18. Challenge for Change's decision is final and binding and no correspondence shall be entered into.
  19. Organisations and departments which are in first, second, or third position may be requested to provide a letter from their organisation's HR department, or a senior manager, to confirm the exact number of staff that are employed in that organisation or registered department.
  20. Organisations and departments with 1 or 2 employees are not eligible to enter or win the Tour de Work, however, they can register on the website, log rides and be eligible to win the spot prizes, bike to work and win prizes and cinema ticket vouchers.
  21. The bike to work and win and spot prize winners will be notified directly via email by Challenge for Change by Friday 4 December 2009.
  22. The name of the winning teams will be emailed to participants and displayed on the Tour de Work website (www.tourdework.com.au).
  23. Winners details will be made available for a period of four weeks from Friday 4 December 2009.
  24. No cash or other prize alternatives are available.
  25. The prize winners may be required to participate in publicity and promotional activities.
  26. Challenge for Change reserves the right to substitute the prize for any prize of an equal or greater value in the event of circumstances beyond its control.
  27. Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate in the Challenge and register on this website.

Cinema Ticket Vouchers

  1. There are 400 Palace Nova Cinemas ticket vouchers available. They will be given out to the first people who meet the terms and conditions outlined below.
  2. The vouchers will be given out to two types of people; 1) people who haven't ridden a bike in over a year who ride for at least 10 minutes during the Challenge period and indicate on their log trip form the person who encouraged them to cycle, and 2) people who encourage people to ride a bike who haven't been on a bike in over a year who ride for at least 10 minutes during the Tour de Work and indicate on their log trip form the person who encouraged them to cycle.
  3. The vouchers are redeemable at Palace Nova Cinemas, Australia.
  4. No cash or other prize alternatives are available.
  5. Cinema ticket receivers will be notified by email and a list of people who have earned a ticket will be published on the Tour de Work website (www.tourdework.com.au).
  6. Cinema ticket vouchers will be delivered to the eligible people by 15 January 2010 at the latest.

Bike to Work and Win Prize Draw

  1. To enter into the Bike to Work and Win prize draw you must either complete and send in the Tour de Work flyer or register and log a trip for transport for the Tour de Work 2009 at www.tourdework.com.au. Each trip logged for transport and each returned flyer (1 per person) will automatically be entered into the Bike to Work and Win prize draw.
  2. Registration for the Tour de Work 2009 via www.tourdework.com.au closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday 1 December 2009. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. All entries via the Tour de Work Form must be returned on or before Monday 30 November 2009. Late entries will not be accepted.
  4. Challenge for Change shall not be held responsible for any late, incomplete, corrupted or incorrect registrations as a result of any postal delay, software or hardware failure, or otherwise.
  5. This prize draw is open to all Australian residents aged 16 or over who have either taken part in the Challenge or returned a Challenge flyer, excluding employees and their immediate families of Challenge for Change, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  6. The prizes in the Bike to Work and Win prize draw include an Avanti Plus Blade 8 bike and 20 prize packs of cycling gear. To claim the prize, proof of age and identity may be required.
  7. The Bike to Work and Win prize winners will be drawn at random on or before Friday 4 December 2009 from all participant trips for transport that have been received prior to the closing date. Winners will be notified by email by Friday 4 December 2009.
  8. Challenge for Change's decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  9. The Bike to Work and Win prize winners will be notified directly and the names will be published on the Tour de Work website (www.tourdework.com.au).
  10. Winners details will be made available for a period of four weeks following the draw.
  11. No cash or other prize alternative is available.
  12. Entry into the Bike to Work and Win prize draw does not prevent or preclude entry into the Tour de Work 2009.
  13. The prize winner may be required to participate in publicity and promotional activities.
  14. Challenge for Change reserves the right to substitute the prize for any prize of an equal or greater value in the event of circumstances beyond its control.
  15. By registering or by completing the flyer, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Spot Prize Draw

  1. To enter into the Spot Prize draw you must register for the Tour de Work 2009 at www.tourdework.org.au. Once a participant has logged a cycle trip they will automatically be entered into the prize draw.
  2. Registration for the Tour de Work 2009 via www.tourdework.com.au closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday 1 December 2009. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. All entries via the Tour de Work Form must be returned on or before Monday 30 November 2009. Late entries will not be accepted.
  4. Challenge for Change shall not be held responsible for any late, incomplete, corrupted or incorrect registrations as a result of any postal delay, software or hardware failure, or otherwise.
  5. This Spot Prize draw is open to all Australian residents working within the Adelaide City Council area aged 16 or over who have either taken part in the Challenge or returned a Challenge flyer, excluding employees and their immediate families of Challenge for Change, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  6. The prizes in the Spot Prize draw include 4 x Avanti Plus Blade 3 bikes, 1 x Avanti Plus Blade 1 bike, 1 x 3 month membership for Adelaide Aquatic Centre and 1 x 3 month membership for Adelaide Golf Links. To claim the prize, proof of age and identity may be required.
  7. The Spot Prize winners will be drawn at random by Friday 4 December 2009 from all participants that have logged a cycle trip that has been registered prior to the closing date. Winners will be notified by email by Friday 4 December 2009.
  8. Challenge for Change's decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Spot Prize winners will be notified directly and the names will be published on the Tour de Work website (www.tourdework.com.au).
  10. Winners details will be made available for a period of four weeks following the draw.
  11. No cash or other prize alternative is available.
  12. There is a maximum of one entry per person, one via registration and logging a trip for the Tour de Work by the website or form. Entry into this prize draw does not prevent or preclude entry into the Tour de Work 2009.
  13. The prize winners may be required to participate in publicity and promotional activities.
  14. Challenge for Change reserves the right to substitute the prize for any prize of an equal or greater value in the event of circumstances beyond its control.
  15. By registering and logging a trip, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
