3. Log Trips
Log Your Cycling
You can start logging your cycling and setting cycling yourself cycling goals as soon as you have registered. If you are not sure how many kilometres you have cycled, here are some guidelines (based on solo riders on mixed terrain):
- Beginner, short distance (15-25 km): average speed 19 kmph - 1 km in 3 mins.
- More experienced, short-medium distance (30-50 km): average speed 24-26 kmph - 1 km in 2.5 mins.
- Reasonable experience, medium distance (65 km): average speed 25-30 kmph - 1 km in 2 mins.
- Very experienced, medium-long distance (80-95 km): average speed 32-50 kmph - 1 km in 1.5 mins.
Once you have logged a trip, your 'My Profile' page will keep you up to date with how many calories you're burning by cycling! For any trips logged for transport purposes, it will also show the amount of carbon emissions you are avoiding by not driving.
Only cycling that is logged during the Tour de Work, Monday 9 to Sunday 29 November 2009, counts towards the Workplace Challenge and the Bike to Work and Win competition.
No Internet Access
Don't worry if your staff do not have access to the internet. They can still take part in the Tour de Work!
Just get in touch with Jake Bugden, Co-ordinator, for copies of the Tour de Work Registration Form or download a Registration Form here. The form can be completed and returned via Freepost.
Last Day to Log Cycling
You have until midnight of Tuesday 1 December 2009 to log any cycling on this website from the Tour de Work. You can also register yourself into the Tour de Work up until this point if you haven't done so already.
If you are logging cycling on the Tour de Work Registration Form, this must be returned on or before Monday 30 November 2009 or entered by you or one of your staff on or before Tuesday 1 December 2009.
After the Tour de Work
You can continue to log your cycling on this website after the Tour de Work. This is so that you can keep a record of your cycling achievements and progress.
